DIFINISI TAIPOGRAFI 

Typography is the art ,craft and technigues of type design, modifying type glyphs, and arrangeing type. Type glyphs(characters) are created and modified using a variety of illustration techniques. The arrangement of type is the selection of typefaces, point size. Line length, leading (line spacing) and letter line spacing.

Menurut Squire(2006), 'Typography is the mechanical arrangement and organization of written words in such a way as to facilitate communication of the content.'

Haslam & Baines(2005) menyatakan 'typography is the mechanical notation and arrangement of languages used to make multiple copies, whether by printed or electric means.

Manakala, Hassan (1999)mendefinisikan taipografi sebagai seni memilih dan mengatur huruf.

Menurut Morioka et al.(2006), 'typography is the picture or words'.

Maksud taipografi pada asalnya ialah 'the arts of designing printed products according to aesthetic criteria'.Perkataan tersebut berasal dari bahasa Greeek dan bermula daripada typos (impression) dan graphien(to write)-Heildeberg News 1/98 Volume 55.

Levenson(1995) menyatakan 'typography is the use of different styles of types to express ideas, concepts and design'.

Resnick(2003) berpendapat 'typography is the art of designing with type. Type is the term used for the letters in the alphabet, the numbers and the punctuation marks that make words, sentences, and blocks of text. The term typeface refers to the design of all the characters mentioned above, unified by common visual elements'.

Stoklossa(2005) imej dan huruf mempunyai hubungan yang sangat rapat di antara satu sama lain.
